Rules and F.A.Q.

001. Keep the drama for your mamma.
"If you engage in OCC drama the mod team reserves the right to hit your character with the Knight Bus, or kill your character in an otherwise nasty manner. Possibly involving a really embarrassing story about a Unicorn and what they we are trying to do to it.

And we're not kidding. We have a 100% NO OOC DRAMA tolerance. If you start causing OOC drama, you will be removed from game immediately. No second chances. No exceptions. Why? Because no one likes a drama llama.

002. It's okay to have a real life, but be active, or we'll cut you..
"Because that's not pain. Being crucio'd for information until your brain breaks down and you go crazy, that's pain."

Activity requirement is as follows: What amounts to 2 journals a month with a reasonable amount of replies, or 1 tread a month (with a minimum of 5 comments per person) is the minimum, and yes, Owls do count for activity! A note on the 1 thread a month, if you choose to go that route the mod expects you to be active outside of that one thread, otherwise, what's the point? There is absolutely no maximum on how active you can/should be. Currently there is a character limit at SEVEN characters per person. But with the chance to earn more with consistent activity and the mod's approval, so if you're at seven and would like to apply for an eighth or more, please talk with the mod first. So take this strongly into consideration, if you pick up a bunch of characters only play a few, that's not fair to the rest of us, it's call hoarding. And it's unhealthy. If you have to drop somebody, it's not the end of the world, we understand. Matter of fact, we'd prefer that you do, than just hold someone and never play them. If your character does not meet requirements for the month they will have until the next month is over to meet requirements or they will be dropped. (Example. If Character A does not meet the requirement for October, they'll have to meet requirements for November or they will be dropped. Nothing extra, just the normal requirements.) If you have a character that gets dropped you have to wait until after the next month that you fully pass activity before reapping (or any other) character. The one exception to this is if your only character gets dropped you need to talk to me before reapping that character and show me that you're committed to meeting activity.

This is a socially driven game, so you have to be social in order for it to work! Having trouble easing into it? Well, that's what we have scene lottery's/memes/and group threads for! Once a month the mod will either randomly select characters to do a scene and what that scene might have to encompass (like MacKenzie and Jordan get caught in a down pour and they both wait it out in a local store or something to that effect.), do a big group meme, or post a thread that's open to everyone. These are not mandatory, but the goal is to get different characters/people interacting and have some fun.

003. Hiatuses aren't fun and they suck
But we all know that real life comes before RP. Just tell us you're going and roughly when you might be coming back so we don't start googling your name in conjunction with natural disasters and horrible accidents just to make sure you're alive. Mod!Megan apparently the Molly Weasely of RL...

004. Don't be a character molester.
Godmodding is not a good thing, so keep your hands to yourself. That character and all their parts belong to their rightful player (unless it is okayed by said player). Seriously. No one likes to be godmodded.

Also, just because someone's using a PB you really like, it's NOT okay for your character to try and jump their bones all the time, especially if it's against the other player's wishes. Character Rape/Stalking/Forced ships without that players permission is uncool and is grounds for removal.

Also, no means no. If someone doesn't want to participate in a plot or idea that you come up with, don't take it personal, it just means that it's not right for their character. Nothing personal, just move on.

005. Don't be an annoying douche who doesn't communicate.
Just because your character might be an antisocial bastard, doesn't mean you get to be. Communication is key. Make sure you talk to each other, especially when plots are concerned!

Seriously. Plotting makes the RP world go 'round, folks, and if you're not going to talk to other players about plot, then what's the point in RPing? Plus? The Mod love to incorporate new ideas with different characters!

006. Cheer up, Emo Kid!
Why so serious? This game is a place to have fun! So... do it! It's only a game, after all. We're all here to have fun. Something you're not happy about, talk to the mod about it. I can't fix anything if you don't tell us! You're not going to hurt our feelings if you think something wrong, it's what the mod are for.

007. The name's Bond. James Bond.
Moving on.

008. Plenty of fish in the face ... waaaaaaait....
Okay. Seriously? PB's need to be age appropriate. We don't need like, a 40something year old playing a 17 year old kid. Just .. no. No duplicate PB's either, unless it's in the case of identical twins, but twins are CURRENTLY CAPPED, so that should not be an issue at the moment. There are like, billions of faces out there. Also, for liability's sake, Suicide/God girls are not allowed, as well as for the sake of the Mod's sanity and to keep her from killing you Miley Cyrus is never to be used in this game EVER.

009. Bitch, I got your diary!
The journals are enchanted. Duh. Every character has one, and they're free to comment on each others journals, unless something's marked private to self, or private to another character. Example:

[Private to Noah]
Your super mega awesome note to Noah would go HERE! Like why you're concerned that working with dragons is bad for his health. He might not believe you.
[/Private]

Now that would only be readable by Noah. If it said "Private to Self" it would only be readable BY YOUR CHARACTER. You can also mark it private to a certain group, like "Private to the Morans" or "Private to The Vipertooth Players". You know, whatever tickles your fancy there.

Which brings me to strikeouts. Strikeouts, when bolded (Not readable), cannot be read by ANYONE. Regular Strikeouts can be read by characters that are very close to your character, and who are willing to put up a little effort to read through the scribbles. If you're not sure, ask!

010. LOOK AT ME I'm SO PERFECT AND I DO EVERYTHING BLAH BLAH BLAH... Also known as the Mary Sue/Gary Stu rule!
Your character is not perfect. They are not going to magically sweep in and save the day at the last minute, thus winning the love of the stars of the show. Lets face it: they're not Superman or anything. No one person has all the answers all the time, and if they did they would be a very lame character. The idea is for character development through problems. Also keep in mind that not everyone is going to suddenly be able to whip up a potion that helps with sleep, or hangovers, or whatever (especially if in this game they're not MAJORING in potions, it's unlikely they'd be able to do some complex stuff.), please keep it realistic. Apps that seem too "sue-ish" will be rejected and if your character starts to become a Sue/Stu, you will be removed from game.

Characters we're looking for: A University is made up of all different types, so please keep that in mind when making your characters, not everyone is going to be the stellar athlete, not everyone is going to be that party girl, not everyone is going to be the prankster. As of right now, the characters in game have set the CAP at people in bands (unless you're filling a position in a current band).

011. I'm not a fan of your families list
Sorry, but all families are final. The mod spent a very long time putting together the family trees and what's done is done. However! If you have an idea for a pairing that isn't mentioned, I'd be happy to listen and get them added when the time comes for more available characters to be added. Just keep in mind I'll need both sets of grandparents in order for them to be added, and once again as far as the grandparents go, we are epilogue compliant.

On a side note. There are lots of families, and therefore there are cousins and other such relations. When apping a character please keep in mind who they might be related to. Thanks!

012. I LOVE MUGGLES!!
We do too! And since the game is set far into the future, and since in this world there has been some integration between the two worlds (mostly muggle ideas being brought into the wizarding world, as the Statute of Secrecy is still in place.). So while things like cds, mp3s, cars, even computers and mobile phones might have leaked their way into the wizarding world, it doesn't mean that every single person knows how to use them/is aware of what they are. Some pureblooded characters won't get pop culture references (and if they're AMERICAN pop culture references, keep in mind that it's set in 2050...), and that it would be unlikely for them to be running around with a laptop. Papers are still hand written on parchment (with a pen, or a quill), apperation and floo-ing are still the most popular means of transportation, older buildings are still lit by candles, house elves still clean the University at night and cook the food on campus, and on the converse, not EVERYTHING can be solved by magic. If it could, then there would be no character development, so please also keep that in mind as well. Anyone trying to suddenly appear too perfect or just so happen to have the answer ALL THE TIME...well, see the Mary Sue rule.

If you have questions, by all means, ask away! I love questions!

013. School is LAME. Does my character have to attend University?

Technically no, they don't. We've created a world where they could be out of school already and working a real job, or is taking some time off, or just chose not to go in the first place. We have plenty of ways that your non-enrolled students can interact with students, however, the whole point of the game is to take place at University, so I do ask that you consider this very carefully when you're apping.

000. The Mod is God ... at least here.
The mod of Assimli reserves the right to change/add to/or otherwise alter these rules as they see fit. We created this game, and we want to see it live a long, full life. If you can't abide by our rules, then don't bother applying because we really don't want you here. We need to know that our players are able to follow the rules and work well within our little group.

Please be aware that mature themes will happen in this game, as everyone in said game are "of age" for this world. For that reason we ask that you please be 18+.

Questions, comments, or concerns can be left here, where the comments are screened. Or you can email the mod at assimlimods@gmail.com.

000.2 Quick Cap Reference
Just because they can be kind of hidden around in here, here's a quick look at what is currently capped in game. The reason for Caps is so that that either one thing doesn't over run the game and it helps keep a balanced game. These ARE NOT permanent, and will be lifted once the mod sees fit. So make sure to check back as things may change.

- Aurors in training.
-People in bands (unless you're filling a position in a current band)/anyone with musical ability. I've noticed a huge influx of people with this lately.
-Bartenders/waitress/waiters/other staff at the Four Horsemen's (check out the Fiddler's Bow, Zanzibar!, Waldo's and the other restaurants on the town page for more options).
-People who were "always" in detention during Hogwarts.
-Bisexuals, we've met our cap on these and will be waiting until the ratio shifts for this to be lifted.
-This is not an official cap (because of how the families are structured) but we're really looking for 1st and 2nd years!
